Legendary and Universal Set Warcraft and The Mummy for 2016

Moving out of the path of J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: Episode VII , Duncan Jones' Warcraft has given up its December 18, 2015 release date and has moved to March 11, 2016. Universal, which is distributing the Legendary film in 3D, has meanwhile announced an April 16, 2016 release for their The Mummy , which has Andres Muschietti attached to direct.

Legendary Pictures also announced a January 16, 2015 release for Michael Mann's untitled cybercrime thriller (formerly known as Cyber ) and a February 6, 2015 release for the fantasy adventure Seventh Son . Mann's film will go up against 20th Century Fox's new take on Frankenstein and Lionsgate's animated comedy Norm of the North , while Seventh Son is the first film to claim that February date.

Latest News: Doug Liman to Helm El Presidente, Starring Tom Cruise

Doug Liman has, according the The Hollywood Reporter , come aboard the Warner Bros. drama El Presidente as director. The film, first announced in 2010 , has Tom Cruise attached to star, but the actor remains reluctant to move forward unless the project can also sign his former A Few Good Men co-star Jack Nicholson.

Cruise would play a Secret Service bodyguard assigned with protecting an elderly ex-president (Nicholson) after attempts are made on his life.

Nicholson is now somewhat retired, having last starred in 2010's How Do You Know . That same year, attempts were made to get him to appear in an earlier iteration of the project (with Jay Roach directing), but the project then failed to materialize.

Electro Subtitle Added to The Amazing Spider-Man Sequel?

Cinepop.br  has unveiled some interesting news from Sony Pictures Brazil that their upcoming Spider-Man sequel is now titled The Amazing Spider-Man: Rise of Electro , at least in that particular territory.

It's not uncommon for films to have different titles across the globe, but there have previously been rumors that Sony was considering adding a subtitle to the sequel in lieu of a traditional number. We reached out to Columbia Pictures for details on this title change, but they couldn't confirm the change domestically.

Katie Chang Joins Tim Blake Nelson's Anesthesia

Katie Chang, the young up and coming star who made her big screen debut in this year's The Bling Ring , has, according to The Hollywood Reporter , joined the cast of writer-director Tim Blake Nelson's Anesthesia opposite Glenn Close, Gretchen Mol, Kristen Stewart, Sam Waterson and Nelson himself.

Anesthesia , an original screenplay by Nelson, follows a group of individuals who are brought together after a Columbia University Professor, Walter Zarrow, (Waterson) becomes the victim of a violent mugging.

Hot News: Is AMC Developing Preacher for Television?

The long journey of Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon's cult comic series "Preacher" continues and this time it might be headed for the small screen. Badass Digest is reporting that AMC is developing the series for television and have already ordered a pilot based on the series. Previous reports had director DJ Caruso still attached to a film adaptation, but that doesn't appear to be the case for this venture. Though no names are given, the site reports that the ones attached are "big and impressive."

This all remains unconfirmed by AMC but given their current programming, the comic based The Walking Dead and hit western series Hell on Wheels , "Preacher" would fit in nicely with the rest of their schedule. If true, the adaptation could very well...

MGM End Battle with McClory Estate Over James Bond Characters

The long-running battle between Kevin McClory and his estate with MGM and Danjaq, who own the rights to James Bond and related characters, is finally over after fifty years with MGM able to acquire the rights to the 007 franchise that had been held by McClory, who helped come up with the story for Thunderball with creator Ian Fleming. In the process of doing so, McClory has claimed that he created many of the iconic characters from the world of James Bond, presumably Blofeld and SPECTRE, who would appear in successive movies following that.

The lawsuits started flying in 1961 when McClory sued Fleming and received partial copyright to Thunderball that allowed him to remake it with Sean Connery in 1983 under the title Never Say Never Again . Neither MGM nor EON Productions have...

Famke Janssen Joins John Cusack in Kickback

Famke Janssen has joined John Cusack and supporting cast members Sean Astin, Mischa Barton, Michael Biehn, John Hannah, Rutger Hauer, Stelio Savante, Tom Sizemore and Sean Young in the crime thriller Kickback .

Latest News: Fantastic Four Production Scouting Locations in Baton Rouge

While it was previously revealed that 20th Century Fox will film the Fantastic Four reboot in Louisiana, we now have a more specific city that the studio is looking at.

Reddit user 'Xzsekots' received a notice that his/her apartment located in Baton Rouge may be used for the filming, which the notice says will start in March 2014.

The cast for the film has not been announced yet, but Josh Trank ( Chronicle ) will direct and the studio just set a June 19, 2015 release.

Hot News: Videos From the PlayStation 4 All Access Launch Event

The wait is over! The PlayStation 4 has arrived and Sony teamed up with Spike TV for an "All Access LIVE" launch event from New York and San Francisco.

During the event, Uncharted was announced for the PlayStation 4! The Last of Us DLC "Left Behind" was also announced for an early Spring 2014 release. A new trailer for inFAMOUS Second Son debuted and a release date of March 21, 2014 was announced. A new trailer for Destiny was shown and Bungie announced that Destiny beta will go live first on PS3 and PS4. Hideo Kojima also made an appearance with the announcement that a special "Déjà Vu Mission" for Metal Gear Solid V is coming to PS4 and showed a new trailer.

Rupert Sanders Boards Napoleon

Snow White and the Huntsman helmer Rupert Sanders has found his next project. The Hollywood Reporter brings word that Sanders will helm Warner Bros.' upcoming Napoleon , a biopic of the 18th and 19 century military figure, Napoleon Bonaparte.

"The Killing" scribe Napoleon Jeremy Doner is providing the screenplay for the project, which is likened in tone to Brian De Palma's Scarface .

Rupert's name has also recently been connected with the sci-fi tale The Juliet and two Universal Pictures projects, 90 Church and the untitled Van Helsing reboot.

Gianni Nunari is attached to produce Napoleon . He has previously brought historical battles to the big screen with projects like 300 and Alexander .
