New Photos and Videos From The Dark Knight Rises Set

Following the photos from New York , we've received more photos and videos of the filming that was done for Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises in the city this weekend.

The production is expected to complete filming on November 14th when the movie will enter post-production for a July 20, 2012 release. Nolan's third Batman movie stars Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Juno Temple, Josh Pence, Daniel Sunjata, Nestor Carbonell, Matthew Modine, Tom Conti, Joey King, Brett Cullen, Chris Ellis, Josh Stewart, Christopher Judge, Adam Rodriguez and Rob Brown.

CS Video: The Cast of In Time

ComingSoon.net talked to Justin Timberlake, Amanda Seyfried, Matt Bomer and Vincent Kartheiser about starring in Andrew Niccol's thriller In Time , hitting theaters on Friday, October 28.

In Time is set in a future where time is literally money, and aging stops at 25. The only way to stay alive is to earn, steal, or inherit more time. Will Salas (Timberlake) lives life a minute at a time, until a windfall of time gives him access to the world of the wealthy, where he teams up with a beautiful young heiress (Seyfried) to destroy the corrupt system.

Akira Gets the Green Light

The live-action Akira is getting close to becoming a reality. Variety reports that Warner Bros. has greenlit the project with director Jaume Collet-Serra ( Unknown ) attached to direct. What's more, they may have already found their leading man in TRON: Legacy star Garrett Hedlund.

Famously adapted as an anime in 1988, Akira will be based on the original manga by Katsuhiro Otomo, depicting a sci-fi cyberpunk dystopia, but will relocate the action to "New Manhattan" rather than "Neo-Tokyo."

Hedlund's involvement is only tentative at the moment, but he would up be for the part of the original story's Kaneda (there is not yet word on whether or not the character names will be changed).

Budgeted at $ 90 million, Akira could shoot as early as February...

NYFF: Film Society Director Richard Peña Steps Down

The 49th New York Film Festival has been arguably one of the best festivals in many years, but it came to a bittersweet end when Film Society of Lincoln Center director Richard Peña announced before the Closing Night premiere of Alexander Payne's The Descendants that he would be stepping down at the end of 2012, following the 50th New York Film Festival. Peña has been with the Film Society for 25 years and has been a part of the festival's selection committee ever since, and according to the press release, he will be stepping down from both roles in a year.

Although Peña rarely gets mentioned in ComingSoon.net's coverage of the festival over the last nine years, he is such an integral part with all aspects of it, including picking the very distinctive tone that the festival...

Shawn Levy Attached to The Three Misfortunes of Geppetto

Shawn Levy is attached to direct a project called The Three Misfortunes of Geppetto , Deadline reports.

The story, from screenwriter/playwright Michael Vukadinovich, is a prequel to the classic fairy tale "Pinocchio" and tells of the life and love of the puppet-turned-boy's creator.

Though Levy is said to be attached, he recently admitted to ComingSoon.net that anything with his name on it as director has to be taken with a grain of salt.

"According to the internet, I'm going to be directing 19 different movies simultaneously as my next," he laughed during the Real Steel junket.

Two major projects that have caught Levy's eye, both also with 20th Century Fox, are the Max Landis-scripted adaptation of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein and the Isaac...

Latest News: Tom Cruise May Join Doug Liman's We Are Mortals

In a rather long-winded analysis of Tom Cruise's career, The Hollywood Reporter mentions in passing that Warner Bros. is in talks with the actor to star in Doug ( The Bourne Identity ) Liman's All You Need Is Kill , as well as noting that the manga-inspired sci-fi war epic is now called We Are Mortals . This comes just a month after reports from Vulture that Cruise's Interview with the Vampire co-star Brad Pitt was in talks for the role.

With recent rumblings that Liman's long-planned Moon epic Luna may have been put into turnaround by Paramount, it makes sense the director might want to move forward with his other major project, but he also was recently attached to direct Everest for Sony, based on Jeffrey Archer's book "Paths of Glory."
