Tobey Maguire and Kristen Wiig Claim The Spoils of Babylon

Announced by IFC early last month, the television miniseries "The Spoils of Babylon" has found two major stars in Tobey Maguire and Kristen Wiig. Deadline reports that both talents have joined the cast of the Funny or Die-produced project, officially described as follows:

"The Spoils of Babylon" is an epic story in the vein of "The Thorn Birds" and "Winds of War." [It] spans three generations, taking viewers from the oil fields of Texas to boardrooms in New York City, through world war battlefields and velvet sheeted bedrooms. As the story unfolds, the booze, the passion and the heartache lead to illegal arms deals and international espionage with the Shah of Iran, not to mention the creation of the doomed sub-­prime market.

New Photos From The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Set

This weekend, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 director Marc Webb tweeted two new photos from the set with the captions, "Day 56. tusk tusk" and "Day 57. My, what big teeth you have!" You can check out those photos below.

On Sunday, Andrew Garfield and Jamie Foxx also filmed scenes outside in New York City and you can check out photos from the filming here and here .

The sequel hits 3D and 2D theaters on May 2, 2014. Emma Stone, Shailene Woodley, Dane DeHaan, Colm Feore, Paul Giamatti, Sally Field, Chris Cooper and B.J. Novak also star.

His latest, Pain & Gain , in theaters now, Michael Bay spoke today with Moviefone , updating on two highly anticipated upcoming franchise entries, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Transformers 4 .

"There was that quote saying that we're making [the Ninja Turtles as] aliens. We're not," Bay clarifies. "It's the ooze! It's from the original source material. These are from the original writers, and I never went out to correct myself in the press. I do listen to the fans and I do want this to be authentic. AMC Plans Its First Sci-Fi Series, Line of Sight

AMC announced today a pilot order for the scripted drama "Line of Sight." The project arrives from writer, creator and executive producer Blake Masters ("Brotherhood," "Rubicon," 2 Guns ) and is a co-production of Fox Television Studios and AMC Studios.

"Line of Sight" is the story of Lewis Bernt, a National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) investigator who survives a mysterious plane crash, bringing him on a quest to discover the accident's cause. He becomes a man whose entire sense of self, his own life and the world as he knows it, completely unravels in a whirlwind of obsession and paranoia.

Production is scheduled for later this year. The pilot marks the network's first exploration of science fiction in an original series....

Hot News: Man of Steel to Receive Special June 13 Screenings

Walmart announced today that it has partnered with Warner Bros. to give its customers exclusive access to see Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures' Man of Steel in theaters nationwide before the film's official release.

Tickets for the exclusive screening will go on sale in more than 3,700 Walmart stores starting at 8 a.m. on May 18. Customers will be able to purchase up to four tickets per visit and will have the option to choose between 2D or 3D showings, where applicable. The advance screenings will take place in selected local theaters nationwide at 7 p.m. on June 13.

Specific details of the promotion read as follows:

• Each ticket bought at Walmart will feature a code on the back that allows customers to pre-order their own Blu-ray Combo Pack or HD Digital...

Alan Ritchson Talks Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Filming has begun on the reboot for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles  and The Hollywood Reporter  spoke with the film's Raphael, Alan Ritchson, about what the experience has been like so far.

"We are shooting. It's been an interesting process, this live-action-motion-capture thing. There's just a lot of technology involved so there's some kinks to work out. So we've had some trial runs, we've started shooting some. We're also in this phase right now that is sort of developmental....We're learning a lot of the fight choreography. We've got these unbelievable stunt trainers that work us every day to the bone. It's been a great process. We'll pick back up with principal photography soon."

Based on a true story, Pain & Gain follows a group of bodybuilders who engaged in a campaign of kidnapping, extortion and murder in Florida. Bradley Cooper Joins Jane Got a Gun

Following some major shake-ups last month , Bradley Cooper has joined the cast of Gavin O'Connor's Jane Got a Gun , Deadline reports. He replaces the recently-departed Jude Law as the film's chief antagonist.

Also starring Natalie Portman, Joel Edgerton and Rodrigo Santoro, Jane Got a Gun centers on a woman who must ask an ex-lover for help in order to save her outlaw husband from a gang who are out to kill him.

Cooper was recently nominated for an Academy Award for his role in David O. Russell's Silver Linings Playbook . He can soon be seen reprising his role as Phil in Todd Phillips' The Hangover, Part III .

Portman is also producing alongside Scott Steindorff.
