Tom Cruise Finds Oblivion

Tom Cruise is now a lock for the Joseph Kosinksi sci-fi project, Oblivion , which has also officially moved to Universal, Deadline reports.

Rumored for both the studio and the star last month , Oblivion (which has also been listed under the title Horizons ), takes place in a future where humanity lives in the clouds, thanks to an irradiated Earth. When the lead character, a repairman named Jak, finds a woman in a crashed ship, his whole world view comes into question.

Kosinski made his directing debut with last year's TRON: Legacy . He is also still expected to work with Disney on a remake of the studio's The Black Hole .

Production on Oblivion is said to begin this October with a $ 100 million budget and an aim for a PG-13 rating.
